Hey, get your head out of your apps!

It's a phrase that may be heard along the roadways. It is being read on those digital signs that dot the driving landscape around Colorado. A new crackdown on distracted driving has begun, and patrollers are looking for people who are looking down to their devices, rather than up and at the road.

Tickets are going to be handed out, and people are going to pulled over in order to cut down on the amount of traffic incidents, injuries and deaths that result because of distracted driving.

This past weekend was the start of the campaign, and police contacted (contacted means stopped and made contact with, or interacted with in some way) hundreds of drivers, and handed out tickets to many of them.
