The international customer service and call center company Concentrix is closing its Boulder facility, resulting in hundreds of layoffs for Colorado residents.

According to The Daily Camera, Concentrix filed a notice last week with the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment that the facility on the IBM campus would close mid-April. The closure comes as the customer service industry shifts to "more of a work-at-home model," says Concentrix representative Jyllene Miller.

Boulder County's unemployment rate is among the lowest in Colorado - sitting at 2.5%. Its last significant employment closure occurred in September when Qualcomm laid off 158 employees at its Boulder location.
