Move out of the way Bass Pro Shops, there’s a new “retail shopping adventure” coming to the Loveland/Johnstown area.

Johnstown has announced plans for an 830,000 square foot retail paradise to be built off of I-25 and U.S. 34. The area already has the first confirmed retail outlet; Scheels, a 250,000 square foot sporting goods store. Scheels plans to break ground in 2016 and is expected to open in the fall of 2017, according to the Loveland Reporter Herald. This mega sporting goods store will not stand alone, there are also plans to add a grocery store, craft store and health club. This shopping paradise promises to add an extensive entertainment district, with a 65 foot Ferris wheel, aquarium, bowling alley, interactive games, and shooting galleries.

“It’s likely going to be the most expensive retail store ever built in the state of Colorado,” said Steve Scheel, the company chairman.

This is just another option for Northern Colorado residents and shoppers, who will see the opening of a new mall in Midtown Fort Collins soon as well.
