Your companies Holiday Party can be a great time to enjoy free drinks and socialize. However, to avoid any embarrassment that may lead to your termination, we have some ways for you and your job to survive. Not everyone makes the best decisions while attending their companies yearly event. This is why in a recent survey, 9 out of 10 HR professionals have some apprehension about what takes place at these gatherings.

I wasn't able to find an exact state on how many people are fired after their Holiday Party... but I bet it's a lot. So here are some of the highlights from Elite Daily's "Unofficial 2014 Holiday Party Survival Guide."

  • Dress Wise

Don't dress like a "sloot," if your company is business casual, dress business casual. It's not the time to break out the holiday "fish nets."

  • Don't Be the Drunk Person

Don't show up drunk and don't be the one lining up the shots at the bar. This may be a good time to give yourself a 2-drink limit. Drink in moderation... and moderation is not a city in Europe.

  • Be Selective on Who You bring

If you are embarrassed to bring your wife or girlfriend... well we'll save that for a different blog involving your life choices. If you are single, this is not the time to introduce your boss to your tinder date. You would be better served going it alone.

  • Don't Sit on Anyones Lap

This goes for your boss or the company Santa.

  • If You Must... Dance in a Group

The company party is not a time to break out your "sick moves." Avoid challenging your boss to a dance off. If you must dance, keep it casual and do it in a group.

  • Socialize... in the correct order

The number one reason for these parties is to socialize. So don't be the creepy one hanging out in the corner. As they say in Wedding Crashers, "Don't draw attention to yourself in a negative way." Also, get your conversation in with your boss before you start partaking in the free drinks.
