With the Fourth of July fireworks ready to light up the night sky this Saturday, now is a great time to see how Colorado stands up against the rest of the states when it comes to our patriotism. WalletHub used data from all fifty states, including the percentage of the population that enlists in the military, Veterans per capita, Peace Corps volunteers, residents who vote, volunteer rate and civic engagement (to name some of the factors), to come up with an overall rank of all the states pride.

Colorado came in at a solid third on the list, only beaten out by Washington and Virginia. The sad story is that overall patriotism seems to have dropped over the past few years. In 2011, 38% of Americans believed the United States to be the "best country" in the world. However, in 2014, that number has dropped to 28%. Check out how all the states ranked below.
