Greeley got an unexpected visitor to John Evans Middle School this past week straight from Hollywood. As cool as that is, why he was here is just as cool for the history of Greeley.

As the Greeley Tribune reported, it's not everyday that a hip hop icon comes to town. Let alone from back in the "old school" era of hip hop.

Danny Boy O'Connor, who was one of the founding members of the 1990's hip hop group House of Pain, was in town. But why?

It turns out that Greeley has some pop culture history!

John Evans Middle School just happens to own a small space in Hollywood history, serving as a one of the backdrops in the 1979 cult classic “Over the Edge.”

Okay but that doesn't explain Danny Boy being here right?

It turns out that Mr. O'Connor is a bit of a pop culture detective.

He has turned tracking down pop culture into a hobby.

Perhaps it is because he is still living off of his music success from the 90's?

Either way you can read more about his visit and why this was on his bucket list, here.
