Good news for those fixing up the yard or planting a summer garden – from July 13 until it's gone, the City of Fort Collins Forestry Department is offering free mulch to residents who are willing to come pick it up. The mulch was made from downed tree limbs that were a result of our late, May snowstorm. It can be picked up during daylight hours at the Streets Department, which is located at 625 Ninth Street, on the southwest corner of Lemay Avenue and Vine Street. Residents are required to load their own vehicles, so be sure to come prepared with a shovel, gloves, and if necessary, some type of container to hold the mulch. This offer is not available to commercial businesses, and until the pile at the Streets facility is gone, the regular mulch sites at Timberline Recycling Center and Gardens on Spring Creek will not be stocked.
