Fort Collins Utilities To Offer Rebates On Photovoltaic Systems (Solar)

Have you been thinking about getting a photovoltaic (PV) system put on your house to cut down your energy bills?

Well, if you live in Fort Collins this could be the right time to do it and cash in on some available rebates.

If you're wondering what a PV system is? It's solar power. ("The word 'photovoltaic' combines two terms – 'photo' means light and 'voltaic' means voltage. A photovoltaic system in this discussion uses photovoltaic cells to directly convert sunlight into electricity.")

According to the Fort Collins Utilities, they offer rebates for PV system installations where you receive full credit for the electricity generated by your system. And on top of that you might also qualify for Federal tax incentives too!

Available Rebates

• Residential: $1.75/watt*, up to 3 kilowatts (kW)
• Commercial: $1.75/watt*, up to 10 kilowatts (kW)

The applications for credits are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis And you can submit them starting January 28, 2013 via email to utilities@fcgov.com.
