Should the Broncos beat the Carolina Panthers and win the Super Bowl this Sunday, Fort Collins police will close busy parts of the city to control crowds.

Police spokeswoman Kate Kimble tells the Coloradoan that police would close off Old Town and parts of Campus West to avoid large crowd issues. The areas would reopen when the city is deemed safe. In addition, police have made plans with first responders to "efficiently handle any problems that may arise."

Patrols will increase throughout the city on Sunday, as well.

Police encourage residents to register their parties, as issues like fighting, underage drinking, rioting, littering, and property damage will result in citations and arrests.
