A new website that analyzes school performance in Colorado went public today called SchoolVIEW that allows parents (and anyone else) to see and compare the performance of Colorado schools and school districts.

How do Fort Collins Schools rate?

There is a lot of data that you can sort through on this website but according to the basic CSAP/TCAP scores, Poudre School District ranks roughly 10% higher than the state averages in all four measured categories. I’d say that’s pretty good.

For 2012:

  • PSD         -  79% reading, 66% writing, 66% math and 63% science
  • Colorado - 69% reading, 54% writing, 45% math, and 48% science

Windsor schools scored very similarly to Poudre schools. Thompson Valley Schools in Loveland also had scores slightly higher than the state average in all four categories.

Greeley schools (RE-6) did not fare so well in the test results. They scored only 55% in reading, 40% in writing, 41% in math and  29% in science. All well-below the state averages.

You can read all about your district and gets lost in the pages, upon pages of data, charts and percentages on the School VIEW data center website.
