Dealin' Doug is done waiting for city officials to give the go-ahead on original relocation plans, so he's doing something about it anyway.

Doug Moreland, owner of Fort Collins Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram in Fort Collins, is moving the dealership to Harmony Road and Mason Street after plans to move to I-25 and Highway 392 were delayed, the Coloradoan reports.

The dealership will move into the space at 224 W. Harmony Road, which used to house United Building Centers until it closed in 2008. The 42-year-old, 24,000-square-foot building by the MAX rapid transit system will be given a complete makeover with Chrysler's Jeep-only store concept including "ultra clean lines" and "everything about what Jeep is and what Fort Collins is," said Moreland.

Remodeling the entire property is expected to cost between $10 and $11 million and create 50-60 jobs.

Moreland told the Coloradoan that he and the owners of Tynan's Nissan and Tynan's Kia became tired of waiting for Fort Collins and Windsor officials to grant an intergovernmental agreement for land use and design standards to allow auto sales at the I-25 and Highway 392 interchange, adding that "it seemed like the town and residents were very hesitant" about development in the area.

The new Jeep dealership could open as early as Spring 2017.
