As of today, June 1st, Fort Collins has lifted water restrictions it's residents. The lift now permits residents to water their lawns freely, however does not encourage "guilt-free water use."

We have to thank the big snow storms of April and May for providing enough water supplies to justify lifting the watering restrictions.

Previously, as of April, residents were only permitted to water their lawns twice a week and in between the hours of 6 pm and 10 am. The city still recommends only watering your lawns once or twice a week but these recommendations are no longer mandatory for Fort Collins residents.

“Restrictions are mandatory for when we’re in a shortage situation, so it’s a short-term thing,” said Fort Collins Water Resources Manager Donnie Dustin.. “Conservation is long-term, working towards reducing that use so it’s reduced every year.”
