We've all watched the TV show Shark Tank, and their board of business tycoons, and one local business owner can be seen presenting what they have to offer in hopes of getting financial backing and guidance. According to the Coloradoan, the Fort Collins based Paleo Diet Foods, LLC, was founded in 2012, after Shauna Sledge and her husband made the decision to focus their company on the growing paleo lifestyle.

According to The Paleo Diet, "The Paleo Diet is based upon everyday, modern foods that mimic the food groups of our pre-agricultural, hunter-gatherer ancestors. The following seven fundamental characteristics of hunter-gatherer diets will help to optimize your health, minimize your risk of chronic disease, and lose weight."

Paleo Diet Foods, "Paleo Bar," that was presented to the "Sharks" on Shark Tank, is a raw, natural fruit bar that is gluten, grain, soy and dairy-free paleo bar, that has the endorsement of Loren Cordain. Cordain, is a retired Colorado State University health and exercise science professor, who created the paleo diet. He is allowing the company to use the trademark "The Paleo Diet," due to product being in line with the necessary research and science.

The episode of Shark Tank that the Sledge's are on, is set to air on Friday, May 1, at 7 p.m. on ABC.
