Severe weather at Denver International Airport (DIA) not only left hundreds of passengers stranded last night, it damaged a lot of aircraft. And damaged planes means canceled and delayed flights.

If you are planning on doing any flying you might want to double-check you flight status before heading to DIA. You can check the status of in inbound and outbound flights on the DIA website. You might also want to check with your airline for any changes, cancellations, or delays as well.

Here is the travel advisory released by Frontier Airlines. Denver is their biggest hub so any grounded planes could affect other cities.

According to MSNBC,

Amy Cley, a spokesperson for Frontier Airlines, told NBC News that a dozen of the airline's planes had experienced significant damage as a result of the storm. A dozen flights have been canceled, and the airline is waiting for its maintenance team to re-certify the planes to fly. American Airlines spokesperson Tim Smith said that the airline had only four planes in Denver overnight; all of them are scheduled to depart on time this morning. Delta Airlines is also on-time this morning, according to spokesperson Anthony Black, who also said that the carrier's planes were not damaged in the storm.

Laura Coale, director of media relations for the airport, said that United Airlines, which counts Denver as its hub, had cancelled 38 departures and 56 arrivals.
