As the flood waters recede in Colorado, many residents have been forced to leave their homes, lost personal belongings and are without the bare necessities. You can help in many ways, find out how.

It may be the only thing, but there is one piece of good that always seem to come out of disastrous situations in our community -- Good people ready to help in anyway possible. Problem is, at times it is hard to find exactly how to help.

The Community Foundation Serving Greeley and Weld County and the United Way of Weld County have teamed together to help in long-term recovery efforts. Donations can be made to the Weld County Flood Relief Fund through either organization.

To make a contribution to the Weld County Flood Relief Fund, please call either organization during business hours or go online to make a donation at any time. If you or a loved one needs assistance in finding recovery help, call 2-1-1 or visit UnitedWay-Weld.org/2-1-1.

The Red Cross is working closely with emergency management officials, the Colorado National Guard and local community organizations to support shelters and evacuation centers in numerous locations for residents affected by the flooding. Red Cross workers are providing a safe place for people forced to evacuate, as well as blankets, cots, meals and emotional support. Please designate your gift to "Disaster Relief." Donate here.

HelpColoradoNow.org is a collaboration of Colorado Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management and the Colorado Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaste who pair donations with victim needs. The site gathers information where you can donate money and other goods, as well as a list of items victims may need.

All Hands Volunteers will send volunteers to Coloardo to help flood victims when officials deem the area safe. AHV will be asking for monetary donations and volunteers to help people evacuate and upcoming effort to help areas recover.
