FBI Arrests Man Suspected Of Abducting And Assaulting Young Girl in Wyoming
Yesterday, the FBI reported the arrest of a man in connection with the kidnapping of a Wyoming girl. A suspect in an alleged kidnapping and sexual assault in Cody Wyoming has been arrested near Bozeman, Montana. While authorities have not officially released the man’s name, the Helena Independent Record reports that Jesse Paul Speer was arrested in Belgrade, Mont., and booked into the Gallatin County Detention Facility on Saturday by the FBI on a $2 million bond. Police say he lured the 11-year-old girl from the town of Cody into his SUV last Monday…claiming he needed help finding a missing puppy. A group of hunters found the girl outside the town several hours later.
The FBI had released this composite sketch of a man that allegedly lured a young girl into his SUV on Monday and sexually assaulted her.
Authorities say he approached the young girl at the Park County Complex in Cody on Oct. 8. He told her he was looking for his lost puppy. She got into the man’s white SUV, possibly a 2004-2005 Toyota SR-5 4-Runner.
The girl has been reunited with her family.
