In the early hours Sunday morning, Colorado State Patrol responded to a two-vehicle crash on I-25 north of Wellington. According to the Coloradoan, investigators said a 2005 Ford pickup was heading north on I-25 and following a semi truck when it, for unknown reasons, left the lane and then collided with the rear of the semi. The collision sent the pickup off the road and into the shoulder where it caught fire. The driver of the Ford truck died in the accident. His identity is not known, but the Larimer County Coroner's Office will release that information at a later date.

The driver of the semi truck and his passenger did not suffer any injuries.

This crash makes it the 25th road fatality in Larimer County this year. We were at 22 this time last year.
