There's plenty more than just exciting rodeos and great country concerts happening at Cheyenne Frontier Days this year. Adding to the country theme and something that visitors of all ages will love to check out, is the CFD Western Art Show and Sale, featuring over 300 works of original art that celebrate the American West. Sixty of the country's top western and wildlife artists were chosen to have their pieces be a part of this prestigious show – ranging in mediums from paintings to sculptures, to wood carvings, Navajo weavings and so much more. These artists do a phenomenal job of capturing the true spirit of the West, which is done by highlighting the lives of cowboys and Native Americans, traditions and heritage, as well as iconic scenery and animals. Cheyenne Frontier Days has always been about preserving the western way of life, and the annual art show plays an important role in helping to do just that. The artwork will be on display daily between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., throughout the entirety of Cheyenne Frontier Days, July 22-31, 2016. Adult tickets are $10 with all proceeds benefiting the Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum.

In addition to the daily display, there will be an opening reception and art preview to kick things off, happening at 3:30 p.m. on July 21 at the Museum. Tickets for this special reception are $145 and also grant access to the Wyoming Governor’s Residence, where guests can mingle with the artists, Governor, and First Lady while enjoying cocktails and hors d’oeuvres on the lawn. The evening will conclude with a Western dinner and live auction. Reception tickets also include admission into the Eye Opener Art Review on Friday, July 22 from 9 a.m. to noon.
