Downtown Fort Collins is jam-packed with events throughout the summer. We have found a number of things you will not want to miss during the month of August!
Bohemian Nights at NewWestFest
Bohemian Nights at NewWestFest is a free, three-day music festival held each August in downtown Fort Collins. The 2017 festival will take place Aug. 11, 12 and 13. This free community music festival features 80+ Colorado bands, including headliner performances from Leftover Salmon, Cake, and Brandi Carlile on the main stage on Friday, Saturday and Sunday; six stages of entertainment; more than 250 specialty, art and food booths; and a family-centered Kids’ Music Adventure and Kids’ World area.
Downtown Sessions Concert Series
This month’s Downtown Sessions Concert Series is Friday, August 4 and features 2 Fort Collins bluegrass favorites! Catch a set from Tallgrass at 6pm followed by Musketeer Gripweed at 7:30pm!
Outdoor Movie Night in Old Town Square
Every Tuesday through August 15th, it’s Outdoor Movie Night in Old Town Square, featuring free family-friendly movies on the Old Town Square Stage!
- “Ghostbusters” – August 1st for National Neighborhood Night Out
- “Inside Out” – August 8th
- “The Sandlot” – August 15th
Movies begin at 8:30pm and are free to the public!
DaVinci & Michelangelo Dome Experience
Domemasters of Denver, the DaVinci Machines & Michelangelo Exhibitions, Fort Collins Museum of Discovery, and the OtterBox Digital Dome Theater brings you the world premiere of the “DaVinci & Michelangelo Dome Experience” on Friday, August 4th beginning at 6pm.
Bas Bleu Presents “Coming to America”
Theatre Esprit Asia’s “Coming to America” is three powerful, poignant and very humorous one-acts on immigration to the US from Vietnam, Iran and China. This family friendly show will be on Bas Bleu’s Tom Sutherland Stage from July 27th-30th for four performances only.
Black & White 2017 Art Reception
On August 18th, mingle with artists and art lovers at The Center for Fine Art Photography’s Black and White Photography Exhibition. Doors open at 5:30pm, followed by Artist Talks from 6:00-7:00pm and the reception from 7:00-8:00pm. The event is free and open to the public.
Thursday Night Live
Bohemian Nights Presents Thursday Night Live is a series of free summer concerts in Old Town Fort Collins each Thursday. Enjoy the high energy Tejano band “Chicano Heat” on August 3rd!
Ben & Jerry’s FAC Concert Series
There is only one Ben & Jerry’s “FAC” concert remaining this summer! Catch “Write Minded” and their unique mixture of hip hop, rock, reggae, funk, and soul on Friday, August 18th on the Old Town Square Stage! The concert is always free and open to the public.
Fort Collins Foodie Walk
The Fort Collins Foodie Walk is a self-guided ‘culinary tour of tasty proportions’ where 13 Downtown culinary shops team up to help bring out the inner foodie in all of us! The Walk takes place on the 3rd Friday of every month. The next Foodie Walk is August 18th.
