The Murphy Center Mission to Hope Walk

On December 2, the Mission to Hope Walk  brings together our community—people who are homeless and people who are housed—to walk from the shelters (Linden St) to the Murphy Center, a .8-mile walk that many Murphy Center guests make every single day. The Walk ends with a Murphy Center Open House – an opportunity to learn about all of the agencies that are part of the Murphy Center collaborative! Supporting the event helps further the Murphy Center’s mission: facilitate collaboration among independent agencies (17) that offer a continuum of services (38) to help people who are homeless or in jeopardy of homelessness survive through crisis, move forward into stabilization and thrive as they return to self-sufficiency.

There are many ways to support the Mission to Hope Walk:

• Purchase an individual walk ticket ($25)
• Sponsor a Murphy Center guest for a special Saturday morning and lunch ($25)
• Make a donation to the Murphy Center
• Spread the word to friends, family, co-workers and others
• Host a team-building day with your friends, business or other group by purchasing a Group Walk Package ($250, including 12+ tickets)
• Sponsor the event (starting at $500 – details attached)
• Share the Facebook event
• Can’t participate in the Walk at 8 am, but still want to help? Join us after the Walk for the Open House and participate in a Gear and Food Drive! We’ll be collecting donations (needed items listed here) at the Murphy Center until about 11 am (official time TBA).
