"Rayz Awareness of Wellness " 4K Run/Walk - Friday, April 29, 2011
To promote overall health and wellness for the Blevins Community Proceeds will benefit Blevins Middle School, Ft. Collins, Colorado and the Bill Walter Melanoma Research Fund.
Blevins Middle School has joined together with 9Health Fair and the Bill Walter Melanoma Research Fund to hold its 3rd annual "Rayz Awareness of Wellness" 4K Run/Walk on Friday, April 29, 2011 at Blevins Middle School, 5:00 p.m. The event will include the 9Health Fair, 4K Run/Walk, 1K Fun Run for children, dinner, music, and a raffle drawing. Free skin screening and sport massages will also be available. All proceeds will benefit Blevins Middle School and the Bill Walter Melanoma Research Fund.
The staff and students at Blevins Middle School are passionate about promoting overall health and wellness for their community and would like to ask for your support to raise money for health programs at Blevins and to provide assistance for local melanoma patients, melanoma research, and community education for the prevention of skin cancer.
The Bill Walter Melanoma Research Fund is a local non-profit organization that was created in loving memory of Bill Walter, a Ft. Collins resident, who died of melanoma in 1998. Students and staff at Blevins, including Bill’s daughter, Katherine, an 8th grader at Blevins, have seen the affects of melanoma on family, friends, and local community members and want to raise an awareness of skin cancer and promote overall wellness and prevention of other diseases and cancers.

Registration starts at 4:00pm. Pick up a registration form in the front office or register on-line at https://www.active.com/event_detail.cfm?event_id=1950166
The 4K Run/Walk starts and finishes on the field behind Blevins and runs out and back on the bike path across the street from Blevins Park.
The 9Health Fair in the Classroom (Student-Led) will be happening inside Blevins after the race and there will be food, prizes and a raffle. Registration includes a race t-shirt.
*Additional donations will be accepted to fight Melanoma!!
