Additional Information

The NCMC Foundation along with the Cardiovascular Institute of North Colorado will host the 17th Annual Turkey Trot 2K/5K Run/Walk, presented by Noble Energy, on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 2014.

Last year’s Turkey Trot had another record turnout with more than 3,700 walkers and runners. It’s the largest Turkey Trot in Northern Colorado and is a Thanksgiving tradition for many families. With the support of many generous sponsors and participants, we raised $50,000, which provided financial assistance to over 40 patients. Without our sponsors' and participants' support, these patients would not have been able to participate in the rehabilitation program. Proceeds for this year’s Turkey Trot will benefit the Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation program at North Colorado Medical Center.

The scenic 5K race is a Northern Colorado Running Club-certified 5K course and begins at 9:00 a.m. with the Gobbler Trek, a 2K fun run beginning at 9:15 a.m. Prize money will be awarded to the top male and female finishers in the 5K; $250 for first place, $150 for second place and $50 for third with Masters (ages 40 and up) $100 for first place and $50 for second place. Age group winners in the 5K will receive fresh pies donated by local bakeries and given out to the second through fifth place winners in the following age classifications: 12 and under, 13-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70 and over. Medals will be awarded to the top three 2K participants in each of the following age groups: 6 & under, 7-9, 10-13, 14-19, 20-40, 41-60, 61-70 and 71 & up.
