Additional Information

Breathe Deep Fort Collins is a grassroots 5K fun run and walk founded by Michelle Meis, who lost her father, Buster Meis, a never-smoker, to lung cancer in 2014. Buster was taken too soon at the age of 57. Michelle and her family have learned that more than half of lung cancer diagnoses are in never- or former-smokers. If you have lungs, you can get lung cancer. This fun run is a way for the Meis Family, friends of Buster, and anyone who cares about lung cancer patients to celebrate Buster’s life, passion for running, and helping others, so his memory can continue on. Buster benefited from therapies developed for the genetic mutation in his lung cancer; it is his family’s goal to raise awareness and funding for lung cancer research, and to help other families benefit from the promise of medical research. 100% of the proceeds of the event will go to LUNGevity Foundation for lung cancer research, education, and support. Help us improve the survivorship of lung cancer… for all our families!

Registration fees up to $25.00.
