I vaguely remember learning about the earth's magnetic poles in science back in the day, and I think I remember something about them shifting. On the other hand I did not know that airplanes relied on the magnetic poles. Apparently they have just shifted again and have caused an airport to shut down for a bit. The magnetic north pole is shifting toward Russia at a rate of 40 miles per year which has caused an airport in Tampa to shut down for a few days to let things readjust. I kind of wish I had paid more attention in science class now.
