I'm not afraid to admit that I kept Netflix, despite the price hike, in part because I couldn't picture living without constant access to one of my favorite shows from the U.K., Doctor Who.

Now it appears that I, and my fellow "Whovians," have cause for excitement; because the Doctor will soon be given the silver screen treatment.

BBC, alongside "Harry Potter" director David Yates, will come together on a film that will take the series in an entirely new direction from the ongoing TV series that currently stars Matt Smith as the Doctor.

The original T.V. series ran from 1963 to 1989, and then returned rebooted and with great success in 2005.  There have also been numerous novels, comics, and audio dramas surrounding the Doctor and his adventures through time and space.

"We're going to spend two to three years to get it right," Yates told Variety.  "...It needs quite a radical transformation to take it into the bigger arena."
