If your up in the Northern Colorado area you may be seeing a few more airplanes in the sky than normal today. Due to wind conditions at DIA some flights will be diverted to the Fort Collins-Loveland airport until wind conditions calm.

Throughout Friday aircraft diversions will persist until wind conditions subside and Denver International Airport can get "caught up" on delayed landings which cause "stacked up" holding patterns for arriving flights.

Fort Collins-Loveland Municipal Airport will ultimately become a parking lot for these planes and passengers will not be unloaded from the aircraft and the planes will sit until it's their turn to head back to DIA.
