Many of us have seen the giant blue "Mustang" sculpture as we drive in and out of DIA but after seeing it once... well, I'd rather look the other way.

The giant blue statue with glowing red eyes was first installed 5 years ago on February 11th. After five years the city will now accept petitions to remove the art piece located outside of Denver International Airport.

The 32 foot 9,000 pound fiberglass horse was created by Luis Jimenez after the Denver art panel commissioned him to $300,000. The sculpture was originally intended to be completed and revealed prior to DIA's opening but was instead unveiled later in 2006.

The reason for it's late arrival to DIA? A piece of the 9,000 pound horse fell on Jimenez killing him. The structure was installed two years after his death and cost the city more than double the original cost at nearly $650,000.

Many visitors and residents find the structure a bit creepy and some call it cursed due to it's past. Some bothered by it so much it has also been nicknamed "Denver Demon Mustang," "Bluecifer," "DIAblo," and "Satan's Stallion."

The sculpture's fate is in the hands of the public as of February 11th.

Should the sculpture be kept or should we get rid of it?
