Continuing on yesterday's "be careful what you swallow" theme, here's another tale of things getting into the human body that should never be there.

A 3-year-old Oregon girl is currently recovering after having surgery to remove, not one or two, but 37 high-powered magnets she had swallowed.

KPTV reports that Payton Bushnell's parents thought she might have the flu when they took her to the hospital for symptoms including nausea and diarrhea.  Doctors performed a routine X-Ray, and that's when they discovered what looked like a bracelet in her digestive tract.  In fact, Payton had swallowed each of the magnets individually; then, they did what magnets do.

Doctors say the magnets snapped her intestines together and ripped three holes in her lower intestine and one in her stomach.

I'm sure there's a perfectly good explanation, but my one question in all of this is, how on Earth did nobody (i.e. parents) notice this girl eating THIRTY-SEVEN magnets ONE AT A TIME?

Well, in any case, doctors removed the magnets and saved Payton's life.  She's expected to make a full recovery.  Check out this video of the story, then leave me a comment below!
