Leave it to the Japanese to take something as beloved as beer, and make it weirder and more awesome at the same time.  Hence the reason this story is both your Daily Dose of Weird and the latest installment of Stuff That's Cool!

Keeping beer cold can be a frustrating endeavor.  Coolers and beer coosies can do the job for awhile, but only if you're dealing with cans or bottles.  What about draft beer? Is there any way to keep your freshly drawn pint cold to the last drop?  Indeed there is, and Japanese brewer Kirin found it.

Kirin had the idea to freeze beer foam and use it to top off pints of its draft brews.  The foam gets dispensed from a machine in a way that resembles soft-serve ice cream!  Basically it's like a root beer float; except replace the root beer with actual beer, and replace the ice cream with frozen beer.

Weird? Yes.  Brilliant?  Absolutely!  The foam keeps  the beer cold in the same way ice cubes would, but without that pesky diluting effect.
