Chalk writings of the message "GO GREEK! GET RAPED!" covered the University of Colorado Boulder campus Monday.

Originally intended to promote sorority rush week, someone vandalized the campus with the messages, as well as "Sorority girls have triple the probability of sexual assault."

"We are aware of the statement made in chalk. It's clearly inappropriate," said CU spokesman Ryan Huff. "We have worked hard in recent years to educate our student body about sex assault prevention."

Fraternity and sorority members worked together to repair the original messages.

The University of Colorado Boulder has tried to shed its party school image in recent years with its "Be Boulder" campaign, which depicts the accomplishments of alumni and faculty through institutions such as NASA. The Greek rape comments certainly aren't helping.
