Creator of Facebook to Donate 99% of His Shares

We've all heard the name before... Mark Zuckerberg. He's the creator of the site we all use on a daily basis named Facebook. Mark Zuckerberg and his wife, Dr. Priscilla Chan have announced the birth of their daughter, Maxima, in only a fashion that the CEO of Facebook can... On Facebook.

Not only did they announce that their daughter was welcomed in to the world, they are pledging 99% of their own shares of Facebook will be donated via the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative to help join people across the world to further advance the  human potential and promote equality for all children in the next generation. The main focus of the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative will be personalized learning, curing disease, connecting people as well as building strong communities.

I personally think this is an amazing effort to help the people not only in the United States, but all over the world. Technology has grown so rapidly and the opportunity to learn has made leaps and bounds in such a short amount of time. Can you imagine what the world would be like if there were cures for diseases, opportunities for everyone to learn and connect? It would be surreal and I am looking forward to seeing what this initiative will offer our future!
