Yeah.  I went there.  It's that time of year where the Girl Scouts of America are ringing your doorbell, standing outside of your favorite grocery store, politely and adorably asking you to buy cookies.

Forget that you made a New Year's Resolution to not eat sweets...at least until summer or whenever you achieve that figure you have always wanted.  But there they are.  Cute. Adorable.  Holding boxes of sugary goodness that you had given up for four weeks now save for that piece of chocolate that you grabbed from your office mate's candy dish. Little saboteurs.

You drive away thinking about which box to dig into first.  Will it be the Samoas? Do-Si-Dos?  Nope.  It'll definitely be the Thin Mints.  Wait.  Stop.  Before you go any further you say to yourself "Wow, I've been so good all month.  It's been a tough week at work. I think I will have a glass of wine."  Yeah, I've totally never had this self-conversation either. However if a "friend" is asking, here are some fabulous Colorado wines to pair with your cookies.

Are you a lover of the Thin Mint?

Pair this with the Royal Ruby Chocolate Port from Wild Women Winery in Denver.

The perfect combination of a chocolate mint cookie with a chocolatey wine.  Are you kidding me right now?  This is reserved for every 28 days.  (See what I did there?)

Chocolate and mint not your jam?  That's cool.  How about the Do-Si-Do?

Like a little peanut butter and jelly sandwich that will pair fantastic with a light-bodied and fruity wine to bring out the jelly flavor.  But let's go a bit sweet and seasonal with the Cranberry Shiraz from Blue Skies Winery in Fort Collins.

Because you've already gone sweet, you may as well get as much sweet out of that pairing as you can.

Onward we go.

The Samoa.  Perhaps the biggest gift the Girl Scouts could have given us.  This little cookie packs a nutty, chocolatey, shortbread taste into one little cookie.  Pairing with this gem of the human mind?  Try the Nutty Laporte from Ten Bears Winery in Fort Collins.

The Trefoils.  I feel as though this may be one of the lesser known cookies but it deserves to find its mate.  Try pairing that with (insert personal opinion here) one of my favorites a sparkling canned white wine from The Infinite Monkey Theorem in Denver.
