When it comes to families being able to afford medical care, most forget about the cost of caring for their pets. Thankfully, over 60 veterinarians across Colorado are helping those families with free exams.

PetCheck 2016, a partnership between the Colorado Veterinary Medical Association, KOAA News 5 and 9News, is making free wellness exams and rabies checks available on April 9 and 10 across the state.

Over 60 clinics in Fort Collins, Denver, Boulder and Steamboat Springs will be accepting over 1,000 free appointments. Appointments will be available on a first come, first serve basis, and can be made starting Monday, April 4 (2016), between 4:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., by calling their phone banks at 877-369-9021.
