Have you ever been ticketed from a red-light traffic camera?  I've narrowly avoided it my share of times.  Well, we may not need to worry about that ticket coming in the mail for very much longer.

9 News and the Coloradoan report a bill to ban traffic cameras in Colorado passed in a state Senate committee, and is now one step closer to being enacted.

Supporters of the bill say the cameras don't improve traffic safety, and they're just a cash cow for police departments.  Opponents, including Fort Collins Police Chief John Hutto (seen in the video above), say they have solid evidence that traffic cameras are a valuable, effective tool.

How do you feel about traffic cameras?  Is this bill a good idea?  Let us know down in the comments!
