Whether you are an adult or a teenager, sex happens. So do sexually transmitted diseases. A group of British teenagers have invented a condom that detects STDs.

As the Denver Channel reported, this idea is ingenious and takes a proactive role for your health regardless of how you look at intercourse between two people.

The world is becoming a scary place, and to think that diseases aren't out there is just not real smart. In general you can only hope when you make the decision to be intimate with someone they are honest about anything they may have.

But what if they aren't, or worse, they don't even know they have something?

That is where this new invention comes in. Three teenagers in England came up with the concept.

How it works:

There is a chemical on the rubber that attaches to bacteria and viruses like herpes, syphilis and chlamydia. The reaction causes the condom to emit a low fluorescent light, which changes color depending on infection it detects.

Now with all the advances in technology and science and in health, why wasn't this thought of before?

Great job guys!
