College Student Fakes Own Kidnapping To Avoid Turning Project In – Dumb Criminal Of The Day

I think we’ve all heard some pretty outlandish excuses for not handing in school work on time (My dog ate it, my hard drive crashed, my printer ran out of ink, someone stole my backpack…). But, a 22-year old woman from Brazil might just take the cake for worst excuse ever.

She made up a story about being kidnapped to avoid handing in a project on time.

A kidnapping!

According to AP News,

She told police that she was abducted last week by three men, then was tied up and held for 24 hours before being released.

Once she had to answer questions about her ordeal to police she confessed that she had made the whole thing up and had actually spent the day at a friend’s house.

Here’s the kicker; she said she made up the caper because she didn’t want to upset her mom with news about her struggles in school.

Call me crazy, but I think my mom would much rather hear about my school struggles, than hear I was kidnapped!
