A Cheyenne man is facing 20 years to life in prison after a Laramie County jury found him guilty of aggravated kidnapping.

Twenty-year-old Arturo Gonzalez was charged in April 2016 with conspiracy to commit aggravated kidnapping, aggravated kidnapping and aiding and abetting aggravated robbery involving bodily injury.

Laramie County District Attorney Jeremiah Sandburg says evidence presented at trial showed Gonzalez was with a group of men that lured Zacherie Gooden to a Cheyenne apartment on December 23, 2015.

The men then proceeded to tie up and beat Gooden as part of a plan to rob him.

The jury found Gonzalez not guilty of the robbery charge and could not come to an agreement on the conspiracy kidnapping charge.

Gonzalez's sentencing will be set before Laramie County District Court Judge Thomas Campbell as soon as a presentence investigation is complete.
