Whether you like it or not, there will be topless women celebrating equality in Denver this weekend.

According to Denver Westword, Friday, August 26, marks the 95th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment, which give women the right to vote. Unfortunately, voting is not the only struggle women have had to deal with, and a more modern struggle would be that of not being allowed to walk around in public without a shirt - something men are frequently allowed to do.

So to celebrate women's equality and push for more change, Denver Go Topless Day is being held at the 16th Street Mall beginning at 1 p.m. on Sunday, August 28.

Support the cause but don't feel comfortable going topless yourself? No worries. Event organizer Mia Jean says not all women at the event go topless.

"Some of them didn't feel comfortable with that, so they'd wear pasties or even regular shirts, and that's fine," she told Westword. "And most of the guys covered up their nipples or put pasties on, or they'd wear bra tops, just to show their support for the day."
