The new-era crime fighters are ditching their traditional spandex looks.

Denver Comic-Con is one of the fastest-growing cons in the country, attracting some of the biggest celebrities from film and television.

For the third weekend in a row, The Jungle Book dominated the box office, taking the top spot and making it look easy. It’s been a fairly astonishing run for a movie that felt like a big question mark a few months ago, but this is what the combination of spectacle, strong reviews, and strong word-of-mouth brings you. While this weekend was ultimately all about Jon Favreau’s big-budget take on Rudyard Kipling’s beloved stories, there were a few other new releases. But as you could have guessed, Keanu, Mother’s Day, and Ratchet and Clank didn’t do solid enough business to warrant mention in the headline.

We’re sadly approaching the end of Barack Obama’s presidency, and following last night’s White House Correspondence Dinner, the first trailer for Southside With You has arrived in timely fashion. The sweet indie romance flick takes us back in time to 1989, when a young Barack met his future wife, Michelle, and took her on their very first date — well, according to her, it wasn’t actually a date (but it kind of was).

Last week, Robert Downey Jr. revealed that Sherlock Holmes 3 will begin filming this year, with Guy Ritchie returning to direct the long-developing sequel. Lo and behold today’s update that a new screenwriter has been tapped to rewrite the script — because when Robert Downey Jr. says something is happening, he enters into a binding verbal contract with the universe and essentially wills his thoughts into existence.

Disney is really doubling down on its growing live-action reboot / remake empire, claiming five more release dates for its upcoming projects and officially confirming several previously reported films, including The Jungle Book 2, Maleficent 2, Tim Burton’s Dumbo and more. The studio now has a total of seven release dates set for various live-action projects, and though they have yet to formally attach specific titles to these dates, reports suggest that at least one of the new dates belongs to The Jungle Book sequel.

However, it wasn’t clear that it would spell complete and total doom for the weekend’s other new release, The Huntsman: Winter’s War, which debuted with very disappointing numbers in second place.

Following reports that he was in talks to join the Jumanji remake, Dwayne Johnson has made the news Instagram-official (which is his version of making a relationship "Facebook official").
