Warner Bros. has done a little release date-shuffling, moving a few of their upcoming films around — most notably (and perhaps disappointingly) with The LEGO Movie 2, which was originally set to hit theaters in 2018 and will now arrive nine months later in 2019. The good news is that we still have two new LEGO Movie spinoffs coming in 2017, and Ben Affleck’s Live By Night will now hit theaters a bit earlier than expected.

Harry is reportedly in the running to play the Rolling Stones frontman in a forthcoming movie about the group.

One of the most anticipated movies of the Summer is hitting theaters this weekend, and as much as I loved the original, it got me thinking. What if Finding Dory was made to target a more adult audience?

As promised, Disney has debuted the first official trailer for Moana, the studio’s new musical adventure featuring the voices of Dwayne Johnson as a demi-god — as if you could cast him any other way. The Rock already played Hercules, now he plays a guy who kind of looks and sounds like Hercules’ South Pacific cousin Maui, who boasts of his great deeds, his magical fish hook, and his apparently magical dancing tattoos.

The summer movie season continues next month with new Ghostbusters, a big friendly giant, another Purge night and Star Trek Beyond, and that’s not even half of it. Those of you interested in something a little less blockbuster-y should definitely add Mike Birbiglia’s Don’t Think Twice to your must-see list, along with the James Wan-produced horror flick Lights Out. The 2016 summer box office hit another speed bump this week as two major releases — a sequel and a potential franchise-starter — opened to disappointing numbers. However, it wasn’t all doom and gloom. Despite the poor starts for Warcraft and Now You See Me 2, The Conjuring 2 opened at number one with the kind of debut that proves modestly budgeted horror movies with R ratings still have a place in the blockbuster months.

It was announced that Mel Gibson is planning on bringing a sequel to "Passion of the Christ" to the big screen, so I thought I would help with some titles.

Faith-based films have been riding a wildly successful wave for several years now, only recently stumbling a bit with the underwhelming box office returns for God’s Not Dead 2. And while that seemed to indicate that faithful audiences might not be too keen on sequels, Mel Gibson may very well prove that theory wrong as the actor and director is apparently plotting a sequel to The Passion of the Christ.

This may have been one of the weakest weekends at the box office this summer, with audiences seemingly avoiding movies new and old like the plague. Even the victories feel a little half-hearted, with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows taking number one at the box office while not even coming close to matching the business of the first film. With Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping simply bombing, the only new release to show promise was Me Before You.

Other hopefuls include Sasheer Zamata as Janelle Monae and Taran Killam as Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
