The Denver Nuggets are making national headlines for a blockbuster trade deal. Superstars Carmelo Anthony and Chauncey Billups have both been traded to the New York Nicks. The huge transaction involved eight players and three different teams.

The Nicks reportedly had to give up four players and three of four draft picks, plus three million dollars cash to the Nuggets. The Nuggets sent Anthony, Billups, and three other player to the Nicks. The Nicks also sent two players to Minnesota who sent 1 player back to them. Wow, complicated stuff. Read more about the trade from ESPN.

Judging by Facebook statuses, people are torn over the deal. There seem to be plenty of fans that are excited to see ‘Melo and his “attitude”’ shipped out of town. And just as many who are upset that The Nuggets got rid of two of their best players. One of my buddies is so upset; he’s trying to sell his season tickets.

Personally, I’m glad ‘Melo is gone. Denver certainly tried to put winning teams together and give ‘Melo a supporting cast to try a championship run, but nothing panned out. He wanted out of Denver, and he sure wasn’t doing us much good being disgruntled and mad about playing for us. I’m more upset to see Chauncey Billups go. I'm guessing we might not see the Nuggets in the playoffs anytime soon. What are your thoughts on the trade? Leave a comment below.

Carmelo spent seven and a half season after being drafted by Denver.  We’ll see the new-look Nuggets tonight when they take on Memphis at 7pm.
