Carly Rae Jepsen has enjoyed a new level of celebrity with her smash single ‘Call Me Maybe,’ and now the Canadian star has revealed that she’s working on a song for her new album with LMFAO‘s Redfoo.

In her Billboard cover story, Jepsen says she’s been collaborating with one-half of the electropop duo in an unusual way. “It’s been a cool day today,” she tells the magazine. “I ran into RedFoo from LMFAO at the airport, and we’ve been writing a song together today. Over the phone.” No big deal.

Since her pop song became a viral sensation, the 26-year-old has been teaming up with a slew of heavy hitters for her forthcoming LP, due out in September. In addition to the LMFAO frontman, Jepsen is working with mega producer Dallas Austin and songwriter powerhouse Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic fame.

“What I really love about music is that, despite all this craziness the creative process remains the same. And that same exciting feeling that I had before anybody knew me, when I was just beginning to work on ‘Call Me Maybe,’ is the same feeling I had today with Redfoo from LMFAO,” she gushed. “You can sense the people who really have it are about writing that right word or that right melody to make it lift and make you feel that perfect emotion.”

Despite her success and massive popularity, Jepsen isn’t jaded at all. “Pretty much every day, there’s a moment where I’m having to pinch myself and think, ‘When did this happen to my life?’” We’d guess around the time Justin Bieber first tweeted about you!
