We may be nearing the end of the dog days of summer, but one last event will give you and your pup the chance to have some fun together, while competing for cool prizes too. The 23rd annual Doggie Olympics are happening Sunday, September 16 at City Park (Pavilion #7) in Fort Collins. This non-profit fundraiser gives local canines the chance to show off their skills and compete to be top dog in several different categories. The competitive events feature games in the areas of obedience, retrieve, run, obstacles, catch, and best trick. Dogs can participate in one prize level only, which are broken down into: Competitive - all ages and for those who are used to competing with their dog; Junior handler - for persons under the age of 16 to compete against each other; Senior dog - for dogs 10+ years of age to compete against each other; and Fun/Recreational - all ages for a fun day competing for prizes.
