I may be wrong, but I am pretty sure that when food stamps were created, they were to feed those who couldn't afford to buy food. All of a sudden they have become a luxury. Not only do you get a card that lets you buy basically anything you want at the grocery store, but you can also go to a bunch of restaurants and even get a delivery pizza with my tax dollars. But can you also buy weed with them in Colorado?

This story unlike the story about 37 people dying on the first day pot was legal in Colorado was actually somewhat believable. But again, don't believe everything you see on the internet! The answer is NO, you cannot buy weed with food stamps. This story comes from another website that creates fake news stories to be funny.

The article “Colorado Pot Shop Accepting Food Stamps – Taxpayer Funded Marijuana for Welfare Recipients” was published on National Report, and like the story about people dying from weed has been read, believed, and shared by many. But unlike the other story, this one actually cited a reliable source in 9News, so I am not going to hate on you for believing this one as much.

But food stamps are limited to purchasing food and beverages, and are not allowed to be used for anything outside of that. Although, I have heard they make these brownies and cookies out of pot... When Walmart starts carrying those, we may be having this discussion again!
