Niwot High School in Boulder County was placed on modified lockdown Tuesday morning.


 

 

Carrie Haverfield, a spokeswoman for the Boulder County Sheriff's Office, tells the Denver Post, "There was a rumor that a student might bring a gun or did bring a gun to school." 

According to the Daily Camera with information from Boulder County Sheriff's Cmdr. Mike Wagner, a school resource officer, heard a rumor that a student had a gun in a backpack.  Authorities placed the school on lockdown as a precaution so they could check security footage.
