Police asked for help on Tuesday with locating an elderly couple that had gone missing from Sterling, Colorado.

According to the Sterling Police Department's Facebook page, Jerry and Patricia Marshall left Sterling, Colorado, at 5 a.m. On May 7 to visit family in Seymour, Missouri, in a gold 2012 Chevrolet Impala with Colorado license plate #288-ZRX.

Concerned about their ability to make the trip safely, family members filed a missing persons report with Sterling police, with a BOLO issued in 5 states as well as a "Silver Alert" issued through the Colorado Bureau of Investigations. Sterling police was also in contact with various law enforcement agencies in several states, working to track the couple's whereabouts.

Through investigation, it has been determined the couple had been in Nebraska, Iowa, and Kansas since leaving their home in Sterling.

We are happy to share that Mr. and Mrs. Marshall were located in Macon, Missouri, on Tuesday, May 10. This update comes from the Sterling Police Department Facebook page at 8:58 p.m. Arrangements have been made to assure the safety and well-being of the Marshalls until they can be reunited with family. 

Nothing criminal is suspected.
