He's a Barbie boy in a Barbie world - life in plastic, it's fantastic!

Tearing down stereotypes and fueling the growing gender neutrality movement is a young boy featured for the first time in a recent commercial for the limited edition Moschino Barbie doll created by Mattel in partnership with the Italian designer.

The gender-defying commercial was released earlier this month and features the boy, along with 2 girls, playing with the doll.

The boy, loving his new Barbie, says she "is so fierce" right before putting a purse on the doll's arm.

The Moschino Barbie dolls go for $150, according to the International Business Times.

The boy is styled with a spiked blonde faux hawk, meant to mirror the style of Moschino designer Jeremy Scott, who attributes Barbie to his high-fashion career.

"The thing I love about Barbie is that she is the ultimate muse," Scott told People Magazine.

This isn't the first time a toy company has led  the charge in gender neutrality - in 2013, Hasbro released its signature Easy-Bake ovens as gender-neutral in response to a girl's petition for the company to market products that appealed to all kids.

Target and Amazon also both made strides in gender neutrality earlier this year, with Target refering to boys and girls clothing simply as "kids," and Amazon no longer allowing customers to search for "boy toys" and "girl toys" - only type of toy and child's age.
