Boardwalk Drive in Fort Collins Closed Due to Head-On Crash Tuesday

A head-on crash involving a Subaru and Jeep closed down a section of Boardwalk Drive Tuesday (August 9, 2016) afternoon. According to the Coloradoan, Fort Collins Police are investigating the crash that happened around noon, when a Subaru Outback driven by 63-year-old Beverly Bradley Jr. drifted into oncoming traffic, colliding head-on with a Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by 34-year-old Brandi Jo Johnson.

Johnson was transporting her 9-year-old, and both were taken to Poudre Valley Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Bradley also suffered serious, non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the Medical Center of the Rockies. It's believed that Bradley may have suffered a medical issue that led to him drifting into the oncoming lane.

The accident closed the section of Boardwalk Drive between Breakwater Drive and Whalers Way for about 4 hours. Fort Collins Police are currently investigating the accident and will determine what is any charges will be filed.
