Brace yourselves, winter is coming this weekend following a mild week. Here's how much snowfall we can expect in Fort Collins, Loveland, and Greeley.

The meteorologists at AccuWeather are predicting the 'biggest snowstorm of the season' will hit much of Colorado starting today (Friday). While that sounds scary, the bar is pretty low when it comes to snowfall.

We've enjoyed temps in the 50s this week, but cold rain has already started in Northern Colorado. This could turn to snow later in the day, but probably not any more than that in the Fort Collins area. You can see the map here which shows one to three inches expected for Fort Collins, but CBS4 in Denver says there's hardly anything expected for Greeley.

'While an inch or two of snow is expected to the east of Denver, 6 inches or more could fall in the foothills across the west. It's a classic set up with mild weather one day and a snowstorm the next as this is how the weather tends to work along the eastern slopes of the Rockies.' -  AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Alex Sosnowski

This means there may be a layer of ice frozen over everything by tonight, though, which makes for slick conditions, so be careful!
