My irrational fear of being the worst candy giving house in the neighborhood has virtually been squashed after finding the best places to buy candy in Northern Colorado. I feel like the stakes are even higher this year because I am new to the neighborhood.  Like all the kids are going to be judging me and based on the candy that I give it could mark me for the rest of the year, at least until next Halloween, or until I put up a Clark Griswold worthy Christmas display.

That’s why I was stoked when I saw how Lifehacker looked at prices at different stores and came up with a short list of the best stops to buy Halloween candy this year.  Basically Target and Costco are the best places to go but here’s how it breaks down.

For mini and “snack-size” candy bars, go to Target.  You can get a mix of 245 Twix, Snickers, 3 Musketeers, and Milky Way for $15.  Costco sells a five-pound bag with six different kinds of candy for $16.

If you want to be the “cool” and hand out FULL-SIZED bars, go to Costco.  They’re selling a 30-pack mix of Snickers, Twix, Milky Ways, and 3 Musketeers for $13 after an instant rebate.
